Why buy hearing aids in Australia from Harmony Hearing? It’s simple – The Best Value! If you’re paying more than 8K for premium digital hearing aids you are paying too much. We can save you up to $4000 dollars off our competitors’ inflated prices on Phonak, Oticon, Starkey, GN Resound, Siemens and other leading brands and still provide you with the most comprehensive aftercare service including a 4 year national warranty, years worth of batteries and after care service completely inclusive. That’s the benefit of doing business with and independent locally owned practice. We take pride in giving you the very best service and value.

Be wary of the overly price focused “Fit and Go” style deals. Such unethical practice deviates from all the medical and scientific research which shows the people adapt to hearing aids over time. To accommodate these physiological adaptations we build into our care plan a series of progressive appointments at no extra cost. This facilitates the comfortable increase of amplification over time and fine tuning to your everyday life experience as well as affording extra support and training in managing and maintaining the device. From our professional experience and research the short sighted “fit and go” approach usually results in lower satisfaction levels, reduced uptake levels and diminished beneficial outcomes despite the level of technology.

Our services to the Perth community include comprehensive tests, fitting, adjustments, maintenance and repair. We also treat tinnitus (the perception of noise in the ears and head) and provide strategies to improve communication.

Our audiologists are university educated and motivated to provide the most advanced communication methods and technologies available. As members of the Audiological Society of Australia (ASA), ongoing training and professional development ensure our clients/patients only receive the highest quality care available. By improving your ability to communicate and socially interact with efficiency and confidence, we enhance interpersonal relationships and overall quality of life.

We take the time to do it right!

In today’s fast paced society one of our most valuable resources time is often scarce, especially when it comes to obtaining health care services. With our service there’s no limit to the amount of time we are willing to commit to guiding the best hearing and communication outcomes. Hearing loss and associated communication impairment can occur both gradually and rapidly and is unique to the individual and the cause of the condition. Therefore we take the time necessary to understand the cause of the hearing loss process and to describe it to you in a manner that makes sense.

We explore treatment options and if we need to fit hearing aids we share the process with you. How you hear and your perception of speech is unique to you. That is why we need to customise this process to suit your needs. We like to share the experience of programming up and fine tuning them with you. For any audiologist a perfect fitting rarely occurs in a first appointment, particularly as you ‘adapt’ to new hearing levels and the ability to use your hearing aids effectively. That is why a series of progressive appointments is usually required to ensure that this process of adaptation occurs comfortably over time. That is why we include a comprehensive coaching process and increment the amplification levels up over time to their optimum for your hearing levels and a thoroughly coach you in the use and maintenance of your device. The last thing we want is for you to invest good money and just leave them in the draw and not attain the benefits they can provide.

Quality follow up and continuing aftercare services ensures greater long term benefits. For example research shows that the neural plasticity of the central nervous system including the central auditory nervous system contributes to the rehabilitation of the individual’s ability to process and comprehend speech. That is we have the ability to ‘adapt’ by growing new neural pathways and reinforcing existing ones. However this process of ‘re-wiring’ in the central auditory nervous system requires time and as common sense suggests this doesn’t occur within a single appointment or instant application, but is a more gradual and incremental process.

This is why we recommend being weary of your average ‘fit and go’ practitioner. They focus too much on price and would like you to believe that the value is almost purely in the technology and have little concern or focus how well their use is adopted and maintained consistently by the unique individual. As with any kind of health rehabilitation program we realise that the fitting of hearing aids is one option that forms only part of the journey in maximising positive outcomes. Successfully using hearing aids to improve communication ability usually takes time and a series of progressive appointments. We afford time for this progression. We enjoy finding out about your unique lifestyle and communication needs and together we can set realistic and measurable goals. We then match the appropriate type of hearing aid to your preferences, requirements and budget.

Fine tuning the device over time requires feedback about your experience in everyday listening environments. We combine this process with in clinic simulations and functional speech in noise tests to ensure they are optimised for speech understanding. We include coaching on listening and communication skills. Our process is one of continuing refinement to ensure your hearing aids are always working optimally for your current requirements.
